show enough courage (and good sense) to time-travel back to the days when
the Jam, the Buzzcocks and other fast 'n' furious Who-worshipping combos
ruled the cool part of the Earth. It's all nifty, with "Real, Real
Gone" (copping a lick from Blondie's "One Way or Another")
and the Material Issue-in-double time "Something About Nicola"
deserving special mention. However, courtesy of Wide Awake's whiplash-inducing
11 songs in under 29 minutes, you might find yourself as enamored with the
pace as with the playing."
